what dya think?

where does it say in that link that its a farlowella? nowhere!

thats like saying a zebra is the same as a green phantom.

when did i say the link did say it was a farlowella?

and farlowella species are also called sturisoma, as shown by this quote from planet catfish

"Red Royal Farlowella - Sturisoma sp."

Sturisoma or Farlowella, it doesnt matter. what matters is it looks great! lol. your pim pictus looks awfully lot like a shovelnose.

and farlowella species are also called sturisoma, as shown by this quote from planet catfish

"Red Royal Farlowella - Sturisoma sp."

If it is what that pic is, it's, Sturisoma panamense... It says so on the link... Loricariidae > Sturisoma > Sturisoma panamense.

Farlowella and Sturisoma are two different genus'. So there's Farlowella acus, Farlowella vittata, Farlowella platoryncha etc. Then there's Sturisoma festivum, Sturisoma aureum, Sturisoma panamense etc.

Sturisoma species

Farlowella species

Different things. Common names matter little,if planet catfish refers to it as "Red Royal Farlowella - Sturisoma sp." it doesn't mean that it's correct.

looking at the two species, there are alot of significant differences. so thanks for that :good: it's abit confusing though because of some sturisoma having farlowella in their names etc.

how much is a sturisoma panamense worth by any chance?

Jay you need to get out more lmao ;)

Also i dont think thats a Pim Pictus btw

It looks like a whiptailled catfish to me lol, I've got a whip tail and it looks the same, just saying... or are they the same fish? Cuz if so your tanks got like the same stock as mine lol Angels, a BN, a clown Pleco, a few pictus, a whip tail cat lol! YOU COPIED ME :p
