I'm getting a little bored of my 90L tank, mainly because i'm not really attatched to any of the fish.
Would like to change the stock a little i think (if the gf will agree too lol).

Stocking i'd like to keep though is;
5 panda cory
5 cardinal
3 platy (possibly)
1 longfin german blue ram

Any ideas?

Drop the platys and add to the number of cardinals. 10 would be a good number. Also consider the African dwarf cichlid, Anomalochromis Thomasi. They are stunning.

I'm with minnnt - rehome the platies, get more cardinals, perhaps a couple more cories and some hatchet fish as top-swimmers.

Cheers, never seen the Anomalochromis Thomasi before - what a stunner!

What about this stocking
5 panda cory
10 cardinal
1 longfin german blue ram
1 Anomalochromis Thomasi
1 clown plec

OR

5 panda cory
10 cardinal
2 longfin german blue ram (if i can find another, i've had bad luck with rams lately)
1 clown plec

I would say the second option would be better Proxo. Either the Thomasi's or the Rams, i wouldn't do both. I believe you would be fine with a pair of either too. :good:

I dont think that putting the African Butterfly Cichlid in a comm tank is a good idea especially as a pair, they are a little unpredictable aggression wise, some are quite reclusive where as others are just pretty nasty.

If your going down the Blue Ram (Mikrogeophagus Ramerizi) and youve not had much luck with them that might be because youve not been keeping them correctly. Rams actually need near Discus conditions, so thats high temperatures and low (ish) Ph ideally 28 degrees and somewhere around 6.5-6.8 will be good for them. If you have higher tap water use almond leaves to lower the Ph which is the safest and most natural way of doing this. I know Rare Aquatics and EV Aquatics have them in stock and they post!

So that said I would change your stocking a little and go down this kind of route

2 Blue Rams (any variety, blue, gold, electric blue etc etc - I really want to do a tank with a Gold female and and Electric Blue male to see what you get :) )
10 Rummy Nose Tetras
6 Sterbai Cories
1 L number plec that likes these high temps and low ph I have a feeling that King Tigers might do well in these conditions.

Wills

Mine are very peaceful, but its the same situation I reckon as most cichlids. Depends on the temperament. How are rams with aggression?

I currently have a Longfin GBR had it going on roughly 9month.
My tank pH is 6.8-7.0, temp 26-28 (mostly 28 due to my room temp).

I've gotta talk with the missus on the stocking too, it's mainly her tank (she's scared of my 55g  )
