fairly new to marine fish but i'm like jonny 5 at the moment "need more input!!!!!" got myself a 90 litre nano tank and have 10 kilos of live rock in which has some hitchhikers in the form of bristle worms. I have 2 coral - furry mushroom and a cauliflower. I did have a finger leather coral but it closed up and it had brown algae on so took to my lfs who changed immediately for the cauliflower coral which i later discover is a hard one to maintain :good: . Tank about 3 weeks old now and am doing regular water changes and testing but all seems fine - no amonia, no nitrites and nitrate is low. I have brown algae on the rocks at moment - what can i expect next on the rocks. I have 5 blue legged hermits to help with the rocks and 2 blue cheeked gobies to clean sand which after an initial 2 days of one of them not coming out are now giving regular appearances. I have gone for a hardy pak of fish, going more with the tank bred clowns and a blood shrimp and a cleaner shrimp. I also have a firefish and a yellow tail blue damsel (not getting anything else). i was concerned over the salinity and readin various strings came to the conclusion i was wasting my time and risking my fish getting a hydrometer so have ordered a refractometer. What additives do i need to add for the corals? read allsorts about trace elements - can someone give me the facts. Any advice would be great

before dosing traces you will need test kits for magnesium, calcium and alk/KH, then buy the sups and dose as appropriate.

id be wary of the yellow tailed blue damsels, theyre nasty little buggers when thy get bigger. so be careful ;)

sounds good so far, just remember to keep an eye on your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH and phosphate
