you could definitely do more than 50 neon tetras. I'm a big fish lover myself, but I have to admit, huge community tanks are quite stunning. Though it would be nice for you to give a common pleco or something a good life, as they're always so abused by being kept in tiny tiny tanks.

I'd have no idea how many neons you could fit in there, but I'm guessing well into the hundreds, probably. Maybe throw in a medium sized non aggressive fish of sorts? maybe some dwarf cichlids, like bolivian rams, or some apistos? a huge school of cory catfish would be amazing as well

I would run two Fluval FX5 Canister Filters. They should keep your tank crystal clean . And then i would get a few 500 watt heaters and spread threw-out the tank.

60 Cardinals, 20 Corys, 4 Blue rams, 10 otos, then some other nice big fish

I would say a lot more than 6 cardinals if you ever want to see them.

is it a wooden floor or a concrete floor? that tank will way about 1 tonne once water is in in, if its wooden floor you will need to look into the construction of it, you will need the tank to be fairly even between the wooden beams

Its a concrete floor, i also plan on building my own stand/base using brick and stone but still unsure on this yet. When i was younger i had a friend who's father had a huge tank in his living room, it was L shaped running along one wall and onto the other with a stone effect stand, it fascinated me and i have always dreamed of something similar in size and design, its just a shame i am no longer in contact with this friend to go ask them for advice.

I will defiantly be starting a journal on here, however its still a couple months away, there is no way i will rush this baby, i have to get everything into place and worked out first, followed by the missus's seal of approval for certain things i.e. drilling through the house wall into the shed lol.

you could make a steel frame and then employe a stone masoner to build stones around it and then cement them in place nice and neat. good luck with the project, i will be watching this one like a hawk
