My 4.5' tanganyikan tank has been set up since just before christmas (although the filters were matured on another tank for almost a year previously) and is doing well, all the inhabitants seem healthy and the plants are growing well. Levels all normal, pH is 8.2. Tank has sand substrate and two big rock piles at each end, with shells scattered around all over.
Current stock is 7 brevis shellies (3 adults, 4 juvies), 4 julidochromis transcriptus, 4 synodontis lucipinnis catfish. I love watching the tank but as you can imagine, 15 fairly small fish in a 80 gallon tank looks quite empty. I want to add some more fish but not sure what. Been considering a school of cyps but although the males look stunning, the females are pretty dull looking. Not sure what other species would fit in well with the current stocking?
I'm on holiday in the peak district soon so can potentially visit wharf aquatics on the way home, and they seem to have a massive selection of tangs . . .
