I'm going to start cycling a tank this week, and I'm still edging towards a livebearer tank, maybe I'll do Cichlids when my 125 starts to empty out of fish. Anyways, my question was how many can I get away with? The tank dimensions are 48x18x21 and I will be using two Eheim Pro 2 2028's for a total of 5.3x filter rate. I was planning on some guppies, platy, sword, and maybe mollie. I will be using the 2:1, but most likely 4:1 or 5:1. Some of the fry I will keep, most will most likely go to my catfish tank since the LFS said they would only accept "certain kinds" and never went into detail.
