Day1 - got my tank set it up filled full to test for leaks top section leaked like the titanic so lowered the water down to 75 gallon mark and resealled it

Day2- still letting top seal went and got ammonia today 5 gallons of it =)
added 20ml of it to the tank with all the rocks and fake plants and filters added and running still havent gotta a ammonia test kit yet most likely tomorrow

Day-3 finally got a ammonia test kit today test my 75/110 this time filled to 110 mark check the reading was at 6ppm after adding just 24hrs ago

when purchasing the test kit i was talking to the guy at the reef store managed to get his foam and filter media which fit my 3 stage that he had in his large 75gal tank for which he kept the big goldfish in since he sold out he hooked me up so i threw that in and added just i few minute drops of ammonia cant wait to see how that mature pads handles the tank overnight =)

set up another ten gallon i came across started as a cycle tank threw in 15ml of ammonia
begin testing tomorrow

day-4 its been over 12hrs went and tested my 75 and was shocked either somethin is amiss or that media lsf gave me was really matured after adding 20ml on day two and just a few drops over 12hrs to it i would say about 2ml total ontop of it my reading are .25ppm as of now So im tossing another 20ml of ammonia lets see what it reads at 2 in the afternoon today

as for the ten gallon tank its reading 8ppm now i dont expect much from this tank everything is new i might slice a piece of that other media and toss in with this tanks filter though ( any ones thoughts on this days readings)

Hi glad to see you got that tank sealed up :) Your tank seems well on its way but this might be because your tanks had been running for a while with the fish, so you could now be very very close to being able to get your fish in. :)

With your smaller tank I would do a small water change to get your levels down to 5ppm other wise you grow the wrong bacteria. If you look at the top of the page here there is an aquarium calculator tab in there is a calculator as to how much ammonia you need to add for your tank to go right :)

oh its fish less remember we decided to keep them in their original 29 gal the additional 10g and large tank are fish less im thinking that sponge and filter insert the lfs let me have was really mature.
however a water change on that ten like you suggest is what i shall do =)

Ah I see! But still the addition of the mature media is whats given you your colony of bacteria so quickly :)

re read the ammonia reading just now been over 12hrs it was 2ppm 12 ago now its at 0 adding 2ml as suggested let see if these 12hour till zero readings continue

day-5 testing the ammonia lvls there at 0 however the water has a yellow tinge very slight then again maybe its just my vision this morning anyways doubling yesterdays ammonia amounts 4ml added now cant wait till 6pm see what the levels are but im thinking asking for the mature media was the best decision made hell im prolly starving the bacteria lmao after all the reef is ran by a 25yr veteran marine biologist most likely set his filters with an army of good bacteria

also tank 10gal after a water change yesterday and added proper amount of ammonia its at 4ppm meanwhile started testing my two stocked tanks
both read 0 now in a 24hr period im thinking having them running stocked for months have made it mature even with a hidden danger to my fish at those times. as for the koi tank 1ppm first reading

day-6
75g is once again at 0 im thinking it has to be ready

stocked tanks at .25 & 1.
10g is at 5.
and the koi tank is at 3

stocked tanks seemed to have very slightly gone up
the 10g despite it being emtpy and having to add ammonia for some reason has gone higher than after what i added is this normal ?
and the koi has risen 2.ppm in 24hrs

Sounds like its going good now! With the big tank try adding in ammonia when it is at 0 and then test ammonia and nitrite 12 hours later and if they are both 0 keep doing this for 1 week and then you will be ready for fish :)

GOTCHA will start doing im going crazy waiting to stock it but i can wait some more time starting to think of a nice design inside

and once again reading 0 so adding once again

Cool sounds like this is going really well :) You can design out the tank and add plants etc before the cycle finishes no problems it helps with the wait ha ha

day 7 this ones kinda hazing got busy and didnt write down my stuff so im unsure i know for a fact though my main fishless was at 0 as usual forgot what amount i added to it, my regular tank at 0 as usual once again the koi tank back down to 1 it seems to be lingering at very low levels wont get much high wont hit zero stopped cycling the emtpy ten gallons and just put the filters on the main tank

day 8 main tank at .25ppm guessing i added slightly more ammonia than it could handle in 24hrs but almost got it all
regular tank at 0 and koi tank at 1.5 - that one seems to be a roller coaster of readings damm goldfish and koi messy messy

also acquired another tank this one a 75gallon max filled to 60 gallon after cleaning it up real well no need to add ammonia as i cleaned with it was used to hold filler dirt so i took no chances waiting on a filter to start cycling that one so right now i threw in some extra gravel some from my cycled tanks

now have 110g, 75g, 85g, 10g,10g,10g, 29g, 29g tanks but only 2 have fish in em ill soon be ready to expand to more fish soon =)
