My son wanted a change in his tank so we decided on shrimps and he wanted neons as well

I bought some new sandplaced some bogwood from my other tank and tried a crypt, vallis and sword in there to see if we can get some plants growing as well

took a while for dust to settle

Im going to make sure theres lots more planting in there with this one

First inhabitants were 5 cherry shrimp, 3 males 2 females. Never kept them before and they are lovely, I may get a couple more add a couple of otos and then cherry shrimp



the waters lower than I normally have the inhabitants should appreciate that

get some moss in there Simon, you'll have hundreds crawling about in a 65ltr in a few months time.

Theres also a lot of CRS hitting the market now, get some of them in there, they are a bit more expensive, but again, they breed easily. Sell them on and they soon pay for themselves. I have had one set of 20ish shrimp from my 20ltr and is been going about 6 weeks.

whats CRS? a type of shrimp I assume?

how did your baby octocinculus get on?

Crystal red shrimp (CRS) are great looking shrimp. They are widely available in most MA at the moment.

as for the baby OTO, i haven't seen him for ages. I'm ripping the tank to bits next week so i might find him then.

What kind of moss are you after Simonas? I could give you a bit of Java moss if you wanted. Just give me a quick buzz on here and I might even be able to drop it off later tonight before I go home to the flat.

You thought anymore about where you're going to get your Cherry shrimp?

was going to get shrimp from andys but they are not for sale at the moment, will probably get some mail order instead, can you recomend anywhere mate?

Only other place I know that stocks RCS for sure near us is Maiden Head Aquatics in Sefton, Liverpool. Andy's does stock some other shrimp but I don't really know much if anything about any other shrimp haha.

I decided to stay the night but will be heading back to Liverpool tomorrow afternoon, so I can easily post the moss through your door. I can give you a golf balls worth but it all grows pretty fast.

I got baby RCS but unfortunately they will be shared between my girlfriend and my other tanks!

well I got 3 cherry shrimp last weekend. They are lovely little things quite interesting to watch.

I only got 3 as they werea tenner for three and if they do ok I;ll order some overtinternet at a cheaper price and in quantity

So far the cherry barbs are great. No idea why I have never kept them before. They are lovely little fish and interesting to watch

Theotos are spot on as well, pretty active and feednig which is good as I;ve read of them struggling in aquariums in the past

I have around 20 baby (3/4 week old shrimps) haven't counted them in a week though so once they grow up I can give 4/5 if you want and some moss since I didn't get round to it before!

Edit: I might be breaking the tank down which has most of the moss so there might be a lot in it for you, possibly an amazon sword and a few other things if you're also interested.
