in a few months i am setting up a heavily planted 55g, heavily filtered, pH 7.0-7.5, plenty of hiding places and the fish will be fed a very varied diet, here is my list:
5 angelfish ( they say 5g per angel )
1 bristle nose plecos
2 bolivian rams
3 platies
1 blue gourami
6 cory cats

I will perform weekly 25% water changes and feed them tetra flakes will be fed 2-3 times daily and blood worms/blanched veggies weekly.

the plants will be:
hornworts
anubias
java fern
java moss

i will get all of the fish as juveniles

thanks for the help!! :good:

Might be better to have an even amount of angels. They can get aggressive, so if they paired off, one could be left alone and get harassed by the other pairs.

Hi fishdude401 and welcome to our forum,

I agree with SPB that angels would probably be better off in even numbers.

Hopefully you've read our Beginners Resource Center and are planning on doing the "add & wait" method of fishless cycling?

ok, i will keep 4 or 6, i know everything about cycling and feeding and water changes, but i like oppinions sometimes, my guppies just had babies!

The worst number to have with any cichlid species when they are maturing is three. If you get a pair the odd fish out is the only target of aggression. Beyond that, 4, 5, 6, 7, it doesn't matter, as if you are observant you will see the pair form & take the measured needed.

Last I checked angels can't count real well.
