i have a 55 gal tank we have 1 huge oscar a yellow chicild which is aobut 4 in and my 7 yr old algae eater who is about 10 or 12 inches. i was scared at first to put the yellow chicilid in the tank with the oscar but they are doing fine. should i add more fish or just leave it alone? and if i should what should i add because my chicilid will kill smaller fish

33 gallons sounds like a small aquarium to house a fullygrown Oscar... I suppose the algae-eater is a Plec...( this tank also sounds too small to house a 10" suckermouth Catfish )... I would not buy anymore fish for this aquarium... simply because there is little space for more ( large ) fish...

That 4" cichlid might make the oscar a lovely lunch too ;)

55g is the smallest sized tank you could put an oscar, on it's own, in. You could get away with a smaller plec, but if you want more fish and/or to keep the big algae eater (is it a chinese algae eater or a plec?) you'll need a bigger tank.

What are the dimensions of your tank?

Could you be more specific about the algae eater and the yellow cichlid?

Erm, that's what I said. I never mentionned a 33g.

And I meant the dimensions of the tank (as in length, width and depth) not fish ;)

I think you mean 55gallons??? also I agree... no more fish for this tank sorry man that's the way it is :p

I hope you've got some serious filtration going on in there... a pleco and an oscar in a 55g will make the water quite toxic very fast.
