C. hastatus are very small, and rather delicate little fish. They would not do well with cichlids. You would probably do best to pass them by.

I'm pretty certain those are C. habrosus. I still have two in my tank (remnants of a group ordered online which didn't fare well - I had 5 survive shipping, and three just up and vanished one day). C. hastatus look a lot like C pygmaeus but with a black and
white cross near the tail.

Thanks for catching my mistake. They are indeed C. habrosus. I got them both at the same time and misfiled the pictures. Like you, I had a big loss during shipping but the habrosus did a little better than the hastatus. This was not the fault of the seller, but of the post office who took two days to get them to me, instead of just one.
