50 Gallon Stocking

I'm getting a 50 gallon tank tomorrow. It is currently up and running Has been for 5 years ) so it is all cycled. I want to do cichlids in it. Any ideas on what kind of cichlids I can mix together?

Possibly an EBJD and a firemouth? Granted there are enough hiding spots and obvious territories.

Depends if you want to do Americans or Africans, there's a big difference...

I like the looks of the Africans. very colorful. But, I was also thinking about maybe doing Paradise fish.
