will look nice

and woop 1000 posts : P

Postings like this will get you up to higher than 1k posts in less than 4 months! Just wanted to point that out

TRUE!
It does get irritating after some time... :/

I would put shrimp in that tank, i have 10 in 10L, and they are doing great. They are very low maintance too, saying that you do need to do water changes etc. :)

came to my parents today and the tank measures 8x8x8inches so thats around 8L, apparently it is a fish tank from when showing fish at display shows (there is a similar show pen for showing hamsters made from wood) so its a bit larger than I remembered but thats a good thing :)

8 litresi s around 3-4 gallonsd right? o_O

I MIght get some small 5.5 gallon tanks during the year.

get a halfmoon for one tank

and Cherry's for the other! :D

its about 2g

It's just over 1 gallon so still useless for fish, bang on perfect for shrimp though. Perhaps a pair of shrimp and a nerite snail, plus some interesting aquascaping using Java moss ( purely because it's easy to grow and would survive under something like a desklamp)

You could probably make a small DIY sponmge filter for it using the old fishfood pot method stickied in the DIY section.

its about 2g

8 litres = 2.11337642 US gallons
8 litres = 1.75975326 Imperial gallons
1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres
1 Imperial gallon = 4.54609188 litres

Depdend what you use for gallons and where you are and what you consider a gallon
Can check on google!

I think It will be great for shrimp and some moss and bits, I think I will still use a diy hob/sump purely to make sure the water is as crisp and clean as it can be for fussy little shrimp
:good:

yeah im on youtube constantly think i know what ur on about, probs something similar to the one bitteraspects made there is a link in my origional post :good:

BAHAHAHAHHA. i didnt even see the link.

ghetto DIY for the win!

I don't think that one would be very well in the end

This one isn't bad for a drip system of some sort

There are many ways I wish i could find the one about the first link I posted there is one on youtube that is the same and shows how well it works

small tanks i think something like this works well enough with a good pump

Edit sorry forgot to add this, seen you mentioned getto DIY sump LoL you should see my design it contans a filtration as well as return pump all of wich is plastic containers special containers food safe so I think its adf approved. I wouldn't mind seeing your setup at all mind posting pics?

oh right, thought you meant this one >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suNJXpzTkUM << yeah will post up a couple pics tonight, will put some sand and some water in the nano cube too and show you what its like but yeah my sump uses a diy pvc overflow, goes through a hole I put in my diy tank stand then into my diy sump! lol can you tell I can't afford to buy decent stuff lol neways the sump/wet dry filter is made using one of those desk tidy things with all the drawers , hole in the top for the overflow top draw is a drip tray so holes all over and a scour pad to filter the crap then the rest of the drawers I cut the bottom out of and has 2 layers of plastic scourers then load of bioballs , my other tanks lid is home made too
