What does everyone think of the new tank? I know its still bare, going to buy a ton more plants to get this heavily planted. Plus some more fish to fill out the tank :)
Still to come:
Picture of blue lights (Moon Lights?). Updates of the tank when i plant it out more.
Interested in knowing more, just ask me :D Comments are very appreciated and wanted :)
By the way, dont mind the air pump, its temporary for now.

Do you think i should put in the Powerhead i have to get water flow going? However, this isnt in there because of it being very powerful, dont want it ripping out plants. But opinions on this please? And on the tank ofcourse.
Oh and, any suggestions on stocking?

Keep an eye out for more updates to come :)

Regards.

i dont know alot about sumps but isnt too little water coming from the tank to the sump?
and id suggest changing your plant placement like....put those long vallis at a corner in the back and bushy plants in the rear,...you know make it look natural.
of course you have the tresure chest because you like it but like 5-6 more plants, and 2-3 peices of bogwood instead of the treasure chest...that tank would look amazing!!!!!

personally i would get a nice rockery or something going on in the corner.. as you have alot of space to play with.. keep the pics coming.. how big is your sump by the way...

Thanks for the comments. Im not sure about the sump, and to be honest its my first sump and i am still learning it lol. So your probably right abuot theflow, will have to research that. By the way, anyone know howto keep this thing quiet? It sounds like it sucks in some air and is rather loud lol, and gets a bit annoying :p

Well i was planning to have a nice piece of wood there in the middle of the tank, like a stump with lots of branches, like a tree.. lol. Just need to buy that right piece :) Was actualy thinking about replacing that chest with a rock cave thing ive made which is in the shrimp tank right now.

Tank is still in progress of being completed landscape and stocking wise. So comments have been taken on board. Will reserach what you guys have suggested for me :) Thank you.

Any other comments or questions on the tank? :)

Regards,
Indir

Any more comments or suggestions?

Going to find some pots or the like to make lots of nice caves for the fish to hide around in, plants still looking for them.

wow!! that is a nice tank!! mine is no where near as nice as yours! Is it possible to tell me what the sump is?? thanks!!

By the way i love you fish! :good:

It has a 4000L/h pump to throw the water back in, dimensions are 2.5 foot x 1.5 foot x 1.5 foot (LxWxH). Bout half full just incase of power outlet, fills it about to about 2/3rds or so full so i dont end up with half the tank on my floors lol.

Thanks for the kind words mate. Takes a bit of work but its well worth it :) This is my second tank, previous was my 2 footer (first picture in the thread).

Keep your eyes on this. Uploading a quick video of my rams + a bit of the tank. And a few more pictures.

Regards,
Indir

EDIT: Btw what do you mean by "Tell me what the sump is". Might have to elaborate for me :p Unsure of what your asking

Hi all,
update for 31-08-09. Went out and fixed up the danios number. Went and bought 8, guy that works there ended up giving me 9 and even gave me a discount of seven dollars. With those seven dollars and little bit of extra change i bought two new plants for the tank (not many plants left so didnt have a huge amount of choice).

Bought two plants. Lace fern and dwarf green rush. Thats what they were labelled as. Look quite nice and i like them :) May buy some dwarf hairgrass soon :) Opinions on the hairgrass anyone?

Pictures:
Close up of the two plants (next to chest is the dwarf green rush, the lace fern is next to the bannana lilly shoots, behind the treasure chest):

Any comments on the tank or plants? Or any more suggestions for the tank?

P.S Still looking for pots but cant find any around my area for the past week, pot demand sharply rise in a week? :p

Regards,
Indir

you should put like.......2 big peices of bogwood in there with anubias nana, java fern and java moss attaches to it.....leave the chest.

Yeah got a nice piece of wood soaking, going to be centre piece :) With that exact plan actualy Shah :)
Thanks for the comment.

Going to leave he chest in there i recon, and put in a ceramic log for the BNs, hoping for some breeding lol. Going to take down my 10G tank put the caves and such from there into the tank soon :)

Indir

Hi all,
Heres our latest update to my tank :)

Sorta "Trimmed" the java fern, firstly to put a few leaves on another part of the mopani wood. And secondly onto my hidden suprise for you guys :D

Heres the mopani wood:

Now for the pictures. Also put in my man made river stone cave, and two terrocota pot halves (tried to cover one for a more "natural" look, whats everyone think of this idea?). And a terrocota log. Giving lots of hiding places :) Have also split my dwarf green rush around the tank into 3 parts.

The Center Piece Gold Vine Wood (My Hidden Suprise :p)
04092009946.jpg

On this center piece, i have tied 3 patches of java fern leaves, a small amount of Riccia to one of the "branches", and and 3 small amounts of Fontinalis(Will get the exact name soon as i find out myself :p). Cant wait for it all to grow out :D Gonna look great, i hope :D

Any comments on the tank set up now?

Regards,
Indir

EDIT: Upon some quick reserach. I think it may be java moss. gonna go make a post in planted section to see if anyone can identify it.

Thanks alot mate. Took a while to find the right piece i was after :D And i suggest people buy gold vine wood :p 3 Days of soaking, it doesnt leak tannins any longer and sinks :D

Any suggestions on improving the tank?

Hoping for more plants but dont know where to put more :p

Was looking for a carpetting plant but didnt wanna ruin the swim space for BN's and Cories.

Regards,
Indir

Very nice tank mate :good:
Should look mint once all the plants have grown out more. :hyper:

Will you be adding Co2 for the plants ?

Nah unforunately to costly for a uni student like me :p Just the ferts i use and the lights :)
Do you recon i should put more plants in or just leave the ones i have in there right now?

Regards,
Indir
