Blue rams.. are sometimes a bit delicate and picky about water quality. Some people also keep insisting that they live in 30 C water all year round, but I do not believe this is the case and have seen plenty of reports from people who view them in the wild that I am correct. You *must* have anti-whitespot medication at home, if you keep rams because small changes in anything may trigger it quite easily.

They also do not get as large as Bolivian rams do.

I think you need to look for a new LFS and do your research on at least how the species looks, before going to buy them.. selling two fish of a different species as a "pair" is.. showing of the LFS's knowledge, to say the least.

KK is right, you can tell by the eyes: bolivians have gold round the eyes, blues have red.

They are definitely not a pair! Just being 2 fish doesn't make them a pair, the lfs is clueless if they think it does. Next time, take pictures and post them up, then buy later if they are the right decision.

they seem happy together, they have been swimming around together all day....I have no wish to breed them

can't see the harm in them living together myself
I guess the purists will flame me
