425l Tank

a slight change of plan (due to funds!) , it may be a 4ft tank between 200-300l il try and get it as near to 300l as i can for that extra space, but i like a large shoal of tetras

Sounds good. The question is which kind of tetras! Have you ever seen a huge shoal of neons? That would be breathtaking.
 
so if i got a shoal of neons, 2 keyhole cichlids, and i want to transfer my 2 clown plecs. (some amano's for the bottom) (maybe a BN)?? what else? something mid water, could i get some rainbows in?

Yes. The species to get depends on your taste. They come in many forms. M. Lacustris, M. Boesemani, P.Furcatas, G. Incisus, G. Psuedoincisus to name a few of the more popular varietes.
