Morning all!
I'm currently considering a bit of a stocking shuffle for my main community tank. In particular, I have 5 bosemani rainbows that just aren't fitting in. They were fine when they were smaller, but now they're getting a bit big and chunky and although they don't actually bully anyone, all the tankmates seem to prefer hiding nowadays.
Tank : 3ft x 18 inches x 15 inches, approx 100L. Sand substrate, bogwood, slate and smooth stones, moderately planted with java ferns, vallis and swords but I'm planning a bit of a rescape with some mopani wood, moss etc.
I haven't actually tested the PH etc of my water myself but my water stats according to the supplier can be found here - hard, fairly neutral PH.
Current tank occupants are a male dwarf gourami, 2 bamboo shrimp, a female BN and 5 black sail cories (definitely planning on one or two more when I can get to the only shop in the area that sells them soon!).
So - long story short, this is a two-part question.
1) I've rather fallen in love with some Norman's Lampeyes. Would I be able to make a shoal of these work with the water/tankmates I have? The gourami is really chilled and has never eaten anyone, not even baby cherry shrimp.
2) If this was your tank, what would YOU put in instead?
