Hi Alasse, are you expecting trouble from dwarf guorami, I always thought they played nice as they are the more tolerant of the species, had some years ago with no problems at all, and of course the grey one is the boss, she's the woman! Lol x
I have a question about how you 'mowed' the foreground plant though....apologise if it's silly. I assume you just used long scissors to trim it all? Doesn't that make a huge mess with the cuttings in the tank then? Is that inevitable and just requires the cuttings being scooped out later? Or is there another way to do it?
For the foreground.....I turn the filter off and let the water calm, then mow. And you better believe i end up with trimmings everywhere lol They float to the top and i skim them all out with a net. Then i replant many of the trimmings one by one to thicken up the foreground. It is very time consuming, but the look is worth the effort
So this tank is ready for another trim.....grows like a psycho lol
All da fishies still cruising around nicely and doing well. I am looking at getting some dwarf loaches for this tank to clean up the pond snails that have appeared. I wont be adding them though until i do one more trim and replant of the foreground and then give it a fortnight to get a good hold of the substrate
Will also be adding some new dino dung balls under the lotus to keep it happy.
Thanks Nin, the gouramis are beautiful......i am looking at adding another to the tank.
I have added 4 dwarf loaches,i got them very cheap as they were not doing very well at all where they were (starving), not sure if all of them will recover, but this tank has a multitude of small snails they can fatten themselves up on!
2 of the loaches have made an amazing recovery, now out and about foraging. The other 2 i havent seen today, that doesnt mean the worst though, they were in the worst condition so maybe just staying out of the way, time will tell
