Now this will not be speedy, i have a few other projects on the go, so not expecting this to fly ahead any time soon

Tank: 3'x18"x18"
Capacity: 190litre or 50gal (approx)
Lighting: 4x 39W T5HO
Filtration: Canister
Substrate: DIY mix
Heating: 200W
Decor: Wood, Rocks, Retaining walls, Live plants
CO2: Yes DIY
Fillers: Stockings filled with gravel too 'lift' substrate
Stock: Undecided, tank will not be stocked until plants are well established

Tank will require a good clean with some vinegar and elbow grease
Once its clean i can start planning out the retaining walls
Retaining walls will be sealed and coloured render

Will update and add pics as things progress

Look forward to seeing how this turns out.

If its anything like your other tanks, its gonna be good! :)

I started adding the substrate today, bottom layer is mixed and in place, more layers to follow.

1st layer - Propagating sand mixed with flourite

Put in some hardscape today. Rocks and wood

Found some sand stored in the shed tonight, so will drag that out to cap the 1st layer. Once its capped i will be filling the tank to keep the wood waterlogged while i fine tune the hardscape and start the hunt for plants!

Yay! Moving along :3

Tank has had substrate capped and is now filled. Just gotta setup the lights and i can take a pic. It will be still a bit cloudy but you'll get the idea of the skeleton thats got to be built on :)

Lights are on, & Oh my they be bright lol.

So we have the basics

Gotta get my hands on a canister and some plants! (the java fern is not staying in here!)

It looks great :) you always do such a good job with your aquascape.

Gorgeous, as per usual. What are you going to put there instead of the java fern?

More demanding plants to go with the high light. Stem plants and i wanna try HC or similar in the forground

Very exciting! I can't wait to see :D

It looks great :) I've been searching for a piece of wood like that for such a long time.

So heater is on. Added an internal filter just until i can get a canister (wont be anytime real soon lol)

Will be planting some other stuff into the tank later once its warmed up a bit, as the darn thing is currently freezing and i dont wanna have my arms in it long term lol

So planted the weed (dunno what it is, but it grows feral and will require some - lots - of trimming i'm betting lol)

Will grab a new pic tonight
