ive got a juwel rekord 70 and i really like the look of the 3d backgrounds

do they make them to fit or do you cut too size

also could i attatch one without emptying my tank like just a tiny bit of aquatic silicone at the top and just slighly lower the water level for 24hrs?

Hello there you have to cut them to size

Some love them and some hate them Personally I love them :good:

the 3D ones do take a small volume of your tank away but not a lot you can cut them with a good sharp knife be it a craft knife or sharp Kitchen knife if the wife's not looking  for your tank you would only need one panel this is a link to the people I got mine from it gives you a graph of how many panel's you need for a specific sort of Juwel tank

As for fitting while water is in the Tank be honest I am not sure guess it would be okay just as long as you do not get the silicon wet OH give the panel a dam good wash before putting it in

Hope this helps :good:

cheers :good:

also would just sticking it at the top be ok i dont want to have to completly empty and dry my tank

i think the root one looks brilliant

no you really need to empty the tank and silicone all round otherwise you're left with a gap that fish can get trapped in or trapped behind the background, obviously they'll then die and pollute the water.

afraid you just have to bite the bullet and drain the tank to do it.

I fitted mine when the Tank was dry I can see were Miss Wiggle is coming from water is a powerful thing and even though the water pumps in these Aquariums are not that strong they do produce movement and you cannot be sure what will happen over time its probably better to make sure at least then it wont niggle at the back of your mind .

Oh make sure the silicon cures properly before getting it wet :good:

trust me, it won't be a tight enough fit. it needs sealing all round. had this time and time again on the forum.

cool just up the road really

any good aquatic shops up that way?

Back to topic.....2 of my tanks have 3d's stuck on with silicone and the small one has the simple Juwel black bark type that I just wedged against the back between the top and backed up sand at the bottom.

All look great and none present any problems

Nice one Dorsey

I got the juwel Rock 450 background absolutley love the look :good:

it took 2 panels to cover the back wall of my tank I done 5 point silicone spots on the back but I took an age getting the size correct before sealing them in :good:

I could not slip a credit card around the perimeter
