Hi people, while im waiting for my mate to let go of his 5x2x2 set up(4 months) i thought id set this 36" tank up to keep me occupied, its been sitting in the garage for little over 8 years and i forgot it was there,so ive taken it out filled it with water and left it outside to see if its water tight.I think im gonna get some practice in with this, get all the plants in for my main set up,they should be well established in 4 months!! ready to go straight into the 5x2x2 when it arrives.Right, ive decided on the compost route again as it worked great for me the last time, mixed with a little bit of coral sand and then capped with sand. For lighting im going to be using an over tank luminaire with t8s.This is what im gonna be using or something similar.http://www.rocketaquatics.co.uk/classica-overtank-tropical-luminaire-1000mm-p-2379.html

hi folks, follow the progress of my 36"set up,i have been looking at some planted aquariums and have been inspired,i will be making a diy co2 unit to see how well this works,i will also be trying for the first time a carpeting plant,i am aiming for a 100% coverage,i would like to base this tank on an enchanted forest kind of look.Excitement consumes me as its been a while since i have last kept an aquarium.Hope you guys enjoy seeing the step by step progress of this small project, you learn new things everyday in fish keeping and i hope this project takes my experience and understanding of this amazing hobby to another level, with the help and support of all you guys on here i think thats gonna be easy.Kind regards-Rebaka

Sounds interesting. Good luck!

I'll keep an eye on this thread

Sounds like you shall be having fun whilst waiting for the mahoosive tank!

Looking forward to seeing it develop.

Why don't you set a journal going in the planted section? It will be easier for people to follow your progress then. :)

Hi people, bad news, had a bricky come round to fix a few bricks on the back yard and what does he go and do,if you can see in the first pic a brick on the left hand side of the tank, well he picks it up to move it out the way and the brick slipps from his hand straight into the side of the tank....!!! what a prat(pardon the pun for this forum)now ive got to go get a new tank which means more£££££££££'s.

Has anyone got a tank for sale? preferably for about £0.00. !!!

+1 - fnd the cost of the tank from ND then find the cost on ebay and tell him the first cost and then relax back to the other and he'll think that he drove a hard bargin.

Exactly, surprise surprise tho he aint pickin up his fone, what an idiot! I've got a good mind to charge hin double,I remember pickin up the tank for twenty quid...so 40 quid it is then!!
