well we did have them in a tank that was bare but they didnt seem to happy in there they were always trying to hide and had there stress bars up nw theyare in this tank they seem alot happier

I hope you got those neons cheap, because once the discus get larger and especially if they're breeding, then those neons are nothing but snacks

Very nice looking tank, but I cant see the discus..

An adult neon should be fine with discus but they dont tend to last long in the high temperatures. Rummynose or cardinals seem to last longer.

Looking at your pics again Id say they are Cardinals you have there.

Where are the discus?

I thought that if you were going to breed discus, they have to be alone in a tank this size. It's pretty small for discus AND the other fish.

i did try and get a picture of them but they are a bit shy as they have only been in the tank for 3 days so they still getting used to it.yeah they are cardinals i prefer these to the normal neons much more prettier lol the discus have bred and they brought up the babys which are in my mum and dads tank we had seven babys altogether which are growing up and lookng bigger each day.the tank isnt small for a breeding setup as some people have them in smaller tanks i know people have them bare bottom and no other fish in there but like i said they were stressed being like that since they have been in this tank they alot happier showing beautiful colours and there finns are always up so when the discus are showing how they are it makes me happy.ill get photos of the mum and dad once they have got over there shyness in the tank and thanks for the people who have commented on the tank :good:

I never saw somebody make a statement and totally contradict it before ending the sentence. They are shy and hiding and scared and happy and showing beautful colors but you cant find them to take a picture. Got it.

ok right first off jim curtis and kribensis when they come out which is when the room is quiet they come out and show beautiful colours no baring and the finns are up,when there is movement infront of the tank they go to the back of the tank if you have discus you might know what i mean ,it would be nice for some people to comment on the tank then knit picking there is only two people so far that have commented on the tank and asked a question about the discus thanks for that discus lova ad blue acara :good:

Nice tank. I have discus and they dont hide from me ever.

hi vonnie06 i think its a lovely tank they must love the cardinals swimming about they do love dither fish gives them a sense of security i think the tank looks big enough to breed in but you my have to take some bits out but i think there confidence will build in youre tank :good: :good: :good:

I smell another Emmsy... How can one be so contradictory of oneself?

I smell another Emmsy... How can one be so contradictory of oneself?
what do you mean emmsy? and im not contradicting myself im not the best of explaining things ill explain from the begining,we put the breeding pair back in to the 4 foot with the other discus as we had to shut down there breeding tank as our elecy bill was high anyways when they were in the four foot the other discus decided they didnt like them and beat them up.so we decided to stick them in my 3 foot tank which is a good size for breeding this was four days ago.when the discus come out WHICH IS WHEN THE ROOM IS QUIET and nothing is making to much dashing about they look happy with high finns and beautiful colours, but when there is alot of movement then they do go and hide but they still have there beautiful colours,i will add that when discus are stressed they show black bars WHICH MY DISCUS DOESNT HAVE WHICH SHOWS THEY ARE NOT STRESSED.yeah they hide when there is movement at the front of the tank but i know i would after
1) being beat and chased by other discus
2) they are in a complete different tank
plus discus are shy fish anyways.cant remember there name but when they said there discus never hide they will do when they get stressed like being in a new tank.so im sorry if i sounded contradicting the first time its like i said im not good at explaining things plus i notice now that i didnt tell the whole story.
so hopefully you all get what i was trying to say.when i put these pictures on a different forum least i got replys stating how the tank looks and how i can approve least they didnt nit pick on how i typed and explained things, ive noticed on this forum that people get a lot of critism and people saying pointless things which it looks like they just want to boost there post numbers up.all i wanted was people to tell me how my tank looks and proberly how to make it better but no i get the complete oppisite,by the way i can see why people are starting to look at other forums and new people change there minds after a while, coz if this is how you treated eveyone then you woulded have a forum there are some really nice people on here that says nice things and give really good advice, and then you get others who just want to boost there posts heres a bit of advice if you want to boost your posts maybe try and be a bit nicer and try giving advice instead of saying pointless things like your contradicting yourself as i didnt know i was up for an award for typing and expalaning things.there my rant over :shout:
