Hello
I have already stated im plannin on going marine, the process is likely to begin early next year. However until yesterday the plan was a nano, and i was planing a Red Sea Max. This is due to my dad being strict baout space more than anything. However its is now possible i may be able to get a Juwel Rio 300, which is a 300 litre tank (66 uk gallons). If i do so i will be converting it marine. Obviously most the juwel equipment will be redundent, lighting is something im going to spend a while researching, as is cooling fans. What kind of heater would i be best with? would it be ok to just use the juwel powerhead, along with an eheim filter? would 1 eheim be sufficient? what eheim should i get?
Also im planning on about 30 kilos of live rock. That ok?
What substrate would be best?
Regards, James

Big undertaking, good luck with it.

First thoughts should be:

Skimmer- you want one rated for 600l
Lighting- The juwle one min, more like 4 x 39W T5's
Flow - X10 flow means 3000lph min, you'll want to ditch the PH from the tank and get 2 seio MP650's IMO
LR - 30Kgs will be good 40Kgs better, all depends on the rock?!?
Sand - will be fine with coral sand from LFS.
Eheim - sell it to fund the project or use for carbon and phosphate remover. don't realy count as turnover unless its got a sprybar on the output
