Hi,

I'm slowly stocking a 30 USgallon planted tank, so far I've got 2 Keyholes, almost certain that they are a mail and a female.

I was thinking of adding the following....

2 T Bars
6 Cardinal tetras
and maybe a few Cory's of some kind.

Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks,

Paul.

I think that if youve got good filteration, then you could have the keyholes and maybe 3 corys....but definately not the t bars...

Another no on the T-bars, there just isn't enough space/territory for another species of cichlid.

If you already have Keyholes then I would aswell not reccomend Tbars. If you didnt have Keyholes it would be ok and i would gladly sell you mine, however it might not be so good as they are a proven breeding pair and could hurt your other lil fishies.

I've never seen a 6'' keyhole.. Keyholes should max out around 4'' tops. If you decide to get some sort of tetra you might not want to get something extremely fast, as they can stress the keyholes.. Some keyholes can be very shy and wont react well to fast swimming fish. 1/3 of my keyholes hides most of the time, while the other 2 are out and about constantly.

Thanks everyone,

I won't be adding anymore cichlds then but I'm surprised about Keyholes getting to be 6", from what I've read it's rair for them to exceed 4" in captivity due to all the in-breeding that goes on but I'll play it safe anyway.

Can anybody recommend suitable dither fish, I was thinking of a small school of Cardinals or Tetras, would either of these be ok or would you suggest something else?

Also, I'm thinking 3 cory's (hav'nt decided which ones yet).

Paul.
