Im was seaching through my local fish shop, I went there to have my water tested so I could move my catfish and plecos. Anyway like everytime I seem to wonder towards the betta section. And I was looking but there werent what I was looking for... I want a bright different colour you dont seen in the shop all the time. Anyways I was looking at the tetras when I saw a betta in the tank with them. He was lovely, red with black tips on him tail and he was a CT, what I had been looking for!!! He was livley compared to the others £5 and made me laugh (He flared up as soon as he saw me) My mom said if Im able with my tank I could of got him then. But the shop said to put him in last so he didnt go for the plattys and tetras Im getting. So I had to say byebye to that loevly betta I feel in love with. Im just hoping theres nothing one like him.

The fish should be added at the same time (you can also just rearrange the tank decor) to stop the formation of territories but its not advised to keep a betta with tetras especialy a CT as they have long flowing fins which are easy to nip.

Yes I have hear for another person that all teras can get nippy :( so I take it that is out... What do you think about plattys though? I would want to move my tank around, I have got it really nice and the way I want it. dont worry I will find another that I like :D

I was wondering about 3 platys and a gourami. Is a beta ok? If it helps, he's probably the least aggressive gourami in the world. (When I first got him, he would only eat whatever the platys knocked down to the bottom of the tank. Only recently has he began to eat from the surface.)

Pretty much everything is a risk with a betta splenden, I keep mine with 3 guppy females, 2 endler males and 2 hybrid fry (which for some reason he has spared unlike any other spawn before it). I check their fins thoroughly everyday and lookout for any unusual behaviour, first day I added them I would look at the tank every couple of minutes for approx 13 hours and was like that for the entire week then gradually I stopped staring at them all the time :).

in the past i have kept females with tetras and had no problems, males are a different matter, if you do decide to give it a try have another tank to move either too, just incase
