25 Gallon Tank Ideas?

Alright, so my girlfriend is getting a bit tired of her 25gallon tank, her current stock is 4 Zebra Danios, 3 Black skirt tetras, 1 Male Betta, 3 Female guppies and a pleco. She's starting to get really bored of it and she really wants to clear out the tank (except for the pleco, the bettas going to a 1gallon tank).

What could she really do with the tank? 25gallon tall (LxWxH - 24"x12"x21). She really wants a pictus catfish, but I'm telling her not to get it as it'll eat the Zebras eventually and get's to about 7".

So, does anybody have any ideas on what she could do with the tank? I was thinking of a brackish tank, with some glass fish and mabye some bumblee bee gobies. But that means she'd have to get rid of the pleco right?? So... what else??? IDEA's PLEASE!!!

If it's a common plec, she will have to get rid of it sooner or later anyway, those things get big.

Pictus need 50g or 190L for one and 20g for everyone after that. 25g? Gouramis, Tetras, Rasboras, Cories, Plates, Swordtails, Mollies, Frogs, Shrimp and Snails

She's had gouramis and had no luck with em, she hates tetras and live bearers and wants something new and interesting. I was saying that a nice tank of tiger barbs would look nice.

Oh and the pleco is a Gibi, but no worries, it's about 4" right now and when it hits about 8" I've got my pond it's going in to

You could have a semi-aggressive tank with barbs and stuff.

THE BEST TANK IVE SEEN AT THAT SIZE IS BIOTOPED, SOFTWATER PLANTED TANK.
MAYBE TRY SOME APPISTOGRAMMA'S WITH SOME UNUSUAL PENCIL FISH NANNO. MARGINATUS ARE STUNNING LITTLE FISH OR TRIFFASIATUMS.
KEEP THE PLANTING SIMPLE WITH GRASSES LIKE ELEOCHARIS VIVIPARA MAYBE SOME CRYPTOCORYNES.

THIS SORT OF TANK IS EASY MAINTANENCE, AND SIMPLY STUNNING.

THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHER SIMILAR SPECIES OF CAT'S THAT DON'T GET TOO BIG. SPECIES LIKE GAGGATTA CATFISH, TATIA RETICULATIS (WHITE BLACK SPOTS, LOVELY) OR TATIA INTERMEDIA. DON'T GET ME WRONG THEY CAN EAT SMALL FISH LIKE NEONS BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE SAME AGGRESSION AND GET TO HALF THE SIZE OF A PICTUS.

How about a shoal of 6-7 cherry barbs, some small peaceful shrimp like a group of 3-5 cherry, ghost or amano shrimp, 4-5 khuli loaches as bottom dwelling fish, some dwarf neon rainbowfish as a centre peice fish ( http/www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/mel-pcox.htm ) .

i dunno i think a black water biotype would look good, 2 or 3 appistos, and a few rummy nose tetras
