24/7 filtration or not?

My tank has been up and running for about 2 months and I have no problems with water quality.
My question is: Do I need to run the powerhead for the under gravel filter 24/7, or can it be switched off overnight for instance?

Especially with an undergravel filter! If you don't keep the powerhead running 24/7 then the bacteria in the filter will die and the filter will have to re-cycle.

Theres a better reason than just the muck and grott will come around...but the bacteria thats benefitial in converting ammonia, nitrites live there and need a lot of oxygen to keep alive. So i thirdly say 24/7
