230 Litre Coffee Table Aquarium

Seeing as the tank is around 60 gallons I would imagine that it would be to small for Bala Sharks and Clown Loach especially since they need groups of 5+ each

Hi

I've never posted any pics myself but below are the TFF instructions

Posting Pictures

When you want to show people your gorgeous tank, or your favorite fish, there are a few ways to do this. The first way, and probably the easiest way, is to go to the Members Aquarium and Fish Pictures section, and start a new topic there. Then click the 'Browse' button, on the bottom of the New topic page, and find the picture you want to show. You can add a few pictures per post. Another option is to use a photo hosting site, such as www.photobucket.com or http://imageshack.us/ . Those are free hosting sites. Once you have your pictures on there, you can copy the URL of the picture. When in the reply box, click the little icon that looks like this. Paste the address in there, and it should show up as a picture!

Awesome tank cant wait to see it!

Post pics!!!!!! I use the Flickr site, too, for linking pics. Let me know if you need instructions.

hope this works ok!

There is a shop near me that has one of these in it. They do look quite nice but i found you cant really watch the fish like you can in a normal aquarium, its always at an odd angle and trying to hide the leads that power everything can only really be done properly if they get sunk into the floor. Certainly one of the best space saving ideas i've seen though. I'd be tempted to get some cork placemats for your cups of tea else those fish are going to spook at everything.

no problems with the leads as there is only one main cable which i've disguised underneath a rug , cant tell there are any cables at all. when sat down on the safa the fish are at a great angle , it a very relaxing tank and the missus spends half her time watching it instead of the box lol

Having a little experience with clown loaches, I would definitely say that not only are they a fish you'd want to stay away from, they can also be extremely skittish, especially when their group numberings are so low, with clown loaches it really is safety in numbers, and i'd recommend 5/6+ for those guys, they get big and quite chunky so I really don't think they were your best choice.

The bala sharks are also another fish that need large aquariums, and when I say large i mean really big for your average household, also the grouping issues again, this is only my opinion, but I think you should rehome them.

Did you research the fish as advised?

i'm keeping an eye on them and the shop i use will trade them back in if they get too stressed or big.

Its very difficult for a fish to tell you it hasnt got enough room :) the first thing you notice, is that its dead.

I have to agree with lolly, for an experienced fish owner you picked a real odd stocking choice of several species that often show signs of agression. Hope it all works out.

thanks for the comments guys, all advice taken on board , i'll post more pics when i get the new lighting installed .

btw do any of you know any good shops in and around the harrogate area?
