Well, it's a bit late to start this, but here is where I'll be updating my 200L tank's progress!

So far it has driftwood, some plants, a mystery snail and a bristlenose pleco. Substrate is white silica sand.
I'm saving up currently for some stocking, as fish in New Zealand are significantly expensive (In aussie too!)
My planned stocking:
-20 Neon Tetra
-20 Emerald Eye Rasbora
- 6-9 Peppered Cories
- 1 Mystery Snail
-2 Female Pearl Gourami
POSSIBLY my female bristlenose, not too fond of her, being an absolute poop machine!

Photos and progress to come!
Feel free to comment

More info: Tank is 122 x 36 x 48 cm (LxWxH)
Lighting: 2 x 40W 4 foot light tubes
Filtration: Aqua One CF1200, around 1200L/Hr or with media around 700L/hr.
Plant Ferts: Flourish
Hoping to use root tabs as soon as I can and more plants!

Following!

My LFS finally got in Pearl Gourami...now I gotta make a space for them. :p

People are arguing that my tank isn't big enough as it is! As they grow to around 6 inches/ 15cm. I'm not sure, but I'll have to see when I get them. I do believe I'll be okay with them, but if I feel they're too small then I'll rehome of course :)

As promised...pictures!
Tank's a bit run down at the moment, not going to lie, it's been a bit neglected. This is due to me not being able to sleep, and in turn, never having any energy.
Working on that though.
So currently houses one mystery snail, a bristlnose pleco - female, and a male betta. He will be moved to a 30L/8G thats set up for him, but I think that he can stay in there until I get new fish.

The betta, named Maximus.

The ALGAE. Thought I might add this, as I'm taking my BN off my future stocking plan and everyones saying "Why don't you get a pleco they clean all the algae for you????" Yeah, no they don't. And the sands covered in well....poop.

Beach driftwood! I'd have to pay up to $90 for this in a petstore, so I got lucky here!
As you can see my plants are a mess! I really need to fix them up! Hopefully I can do that tomorrow or the next day :) Or even tonight if I'm lucky!

Things I might also add:
PLANT LIST CURRENTLY:
- Java Moss
-Java Fern
-Anubias Nana
-Cardamine
-Ambulia
-Rotala
-Blue Hygro
-Polysperma
-Star Grass
-Windelov/Laced Java Fern

I also want to perhaps add some smaller foreground plants, and a whole lot more backround ones. I want a large leaved stem plant like Pennywort, hopefully I could get some nice and cheap. Also, some Indian Fern, which can float for the gouramis :)

It looks beautiful minus the algae IMO :) And your betta is quite handsome too, I like his name!

Do you already know what kind of algae it is? It looks like blue-green/cyanobacteria to me but I could easily be wrong. I hope I am since it's a pain to deal with D:

Wow nice tank and nice fish, He is a handsome boy.

Yes I know all about the codt of driftwood from LFS you pay 30 bucks for a stick.

Thanks for the positive comments guys :) Will give the algae a scrub, and hopefully re arrange the plants today!
Can anyone recommend a good brand of root tab I could source in NZ?
