I switched some of my stock around and now have only Casper and my three Otto's in my 20 gallon (And I by chance found black sand for the tank so I am SUPER pleased!)
Anyways, I was hoping to add some other fish to the tank. Casper is a pretty messy eater so I'm going to have to introduce a gang of Cory's to clean up his scraps. I was thinking either Albino (To contrast the black sand) Or Peppered cory's because I like the look of them. (A group of 5-6 I was thinking)

I'm thinking of making Casper my centre piece fish, so I was looking into schooling fish that would do okay with a betta.
I was thinking either a group of Neon Tetra's or Zebra Danio's, as they are the most abundant at my local LFS. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience and words of wisdom to offer me first :)

Also: I know people like pictures :p So here's The new tank layout:

And here's Casper exploring his new home:

Note to self: I should add more plants 'n such

I've heard zebra danios can be nippy - but then again, I suppose most tetra/danio type fish have that potential.

What about a group of 12 or so tetras and 6/8 cories? I'm sure I've read that generally, the larger the group of fish, the less lkely they are to be nippy.

The sand looks good in there :good:

Under no circumstances should brightly colored fish be mixed with a betta. Betta will confuse them with rival fish and attack them.

Mollies, and platys often do good with bettas as well as cory cats and plecos.

Dont mix them with barbs and watch what tetras you do mix them with as they can nip your bettas fix and seriously injure if not kill your betta.

The general rule with mixing fish with bettas is the brighter and flashier the fish/fins, the more likely your betta is to attack it.

Mix your tank caustiously.

My new male plakat is living in my community tank with 3 panda corys, 5 zebra danios and 2 Endlers and an assassin snail, soon to be 2 snails as I am trying to find my snail left in my other tank. He seems to be doing well with them. :)
