Clown loaches, commonly grow 8-12" in the aquarium. (Correct me if i'm wrong) Most sharks get large to house in the aquariums also. I.D Sharks grow 3-4' or something like that (Again correct me if i'm wrong.)

Live plants are pretty much easy to take care of. Put some plant fertilizer (For aquariums) maybe a CO2 injector, lots of light, and watch them grow, and maybe some leaf trimmings here or their.

As for the betta idea. No. A betta would fight (and kill?) your gourami's as the betta will think that they would be competition for a mate.

Maybe a german blue ram? They are exotic, and very bright neon colours, very lovely fish if you ask me. They will get a little aggresive during mating time though.
i thought the siamese fighting fish fight there own kind.

Typically yes. But sometimes they will fight other brightly-colored fish. Other fish also sometimes pick on bettas, as they have long flowing fins (great for nipping) and don't usually move very quickly. You should be cautious when adding them to a community tank -- it can certainly be done, but you have to keep an eye on them for a while to make sure everyone gets aquainted ok. ;) I've never kept one with other fish, just because I'm too fond of my bettas to "risk" putting them in a tank with other fish, but lots of people do it just fine.

As far as "their own kind" too -- gourami and bettas are closely related. :) They're both labyrinth fishes.

OK, so I think since i cant get clown loaches, tank too small, I was thinking either 3 khuli loaches or 6 corys? Once i decide on one of those, I would like to add a larger fish at some point (maybe a little larger then my dwarf gourami) such as blue ram (do i need 2?) or I don't know, any suggetsions? Thanks guys! :D
of course the above fish would be added to my 20 gal. long with its inhabitants... listed in signature. :hyper:
