2 Tanks 1 Co2 Bottle?

wouldnt the co2 tubing AFTER the splitter need to be the same length in order to recieve the same amount of injection? unless the tanks are different sizes, you may have to offset the lengths, longer for smaller tank, and shorter for larger tank...no?

I doubt it. Although I've never used a splitter, they have needle control valves on each individual feed, I believe you adjust the amount of CO2 using those.

Thanks for the info Planter !

Im in agreement with Mr G cant see any issues here!

Cool! Cheers for letting us know :) just need to set up two tanks next to each other now, I guees we dont really need a sofa in the sitting room... :shifty:

Im not even sure with the use of these needle valves that the tanks would need to be right next to each other! just as long as you ensure no kinks in the hosing.

i was just thinking theoretically about the same as using airline tubing, that if they are different lengths you will not get the same flow to each stone...but i was just throwing it out there, guess you wont know until you try.

Well i recieved my 3 way splitter this morning! and it all fits just fine! The guy at Aquamagic was really helpfull so i can highly recommend them!

Good to hear, they were really helpful when I used them.
I'm planning on getting a splitter from Aquamagic when I setup my 240L tank.
I'm going to split the CO2 line and run CO2 into 2 smaller diffusers, one at each end of the tank rather than
just one. Hopefully to give a better CO2 distribution around a larger tank.

I notice you got the 3 way splitter ..... you planning on running 3 tanks of it now, or was that just 'in case' !
Would be interested to know how you find it once you have it up and running.

Just in case ;) have to work round the mrs first though :D

Hi planter

Any chance of a link to Aquamagic? A Google gives me lots of links but none but none seem to be anything to do with aquaria.

The links in Planters and Creynards posts (post #4 and #5 in the thread) both point towards AquaticMagic on Ebay ...

But here it is anyway ..... AquaticMagic Ebay Link

So what was the conclusion of this thread? A spliter does work? If so how, do you need to carefully adjust each side or doe sit do it automatically? if so what do I want to use?

I use a DIy system but it can pump out enough co2 for my two 50+ tanks but it seems almsot impossible to split it correctly..

thanks!

I havent started using the splitter yet but im sure you can forget all your concerns about lengths of hose etc. Do remember This splitter is for use on a pressurised system the pressure is so great that you COULD set one valve to 1 bps and the other to 5 bps by adjusting the needle valves if thats what you wanted. You determine the rate at which the gas escapes! A DIY system is going to be completeley different, even with the use of clamps and 'T' pieces we are talking about controling a GAS here. The adjustments on an Airline valve or clamp just wont be fine enough therefore gas will take the easiest route and hose would have to be EXACTLY the same length (IMO its not going to work) Maybe im wrong! Anyone?

MM.. well in my experiance that is not true.. but I dunno.. It seems my anti-syphone valves are messed up.. but my lines are not the same lenght and it gets into both tanks.. but I have to configure the valves just right to get it to work. I duno..
