I was looking at all the betta in my LFS today and in these tank sets they have especially for betta I saw either a plakat male or a female - I couldnt tell, then I spotted a little male VT wedged in behind the filter in the same tank! I said to a worker that they werent supposed to be together and he said well its females so its fine like I was stupid! Grr! This big fat male/female trying to get in at the tiny male aswell! So I bought the little male - Id seen him there about a month ago and loved him so Im shocked he was still there!! Hes white with little red splashes through his tail
Then as I was with my Mum she was telling me to get another one lol! So I was looking in the other tanks at them - kept in where all the cold water plants are kept, with green algae all over the glass! And in 1 tank was 2 MALES! 1 red VT that nearly had no fins or tails left and 1 blue VT that was also damged. As I had 2 red ones at home I got the blue 1.
So Im home with them now, dived by 10G in half so the blue 1 in 1 side and my male CT in the other. He is fine swimming about exploring and he even ate all the pellets I put in there. The little white 1 has gone a critter keeper which holds 4 gallons, its heated but not filtered and so far he hasnt done much, just sitting on the bottom or sitting at the surface, but when he does swim he seems just fine. His tail is damaged from the huge male/female that they had stuck in there with him so Im hoping he is just stressed and will perk up over the next couple days.
Ill try and get some pics tomorrow if I remember. White one is called Ghost and havent named the blue one yet

well good job on saving both of them you will have to post some pics. ghost sounds cute!

Well done for rescuing them.
Sometimes if they are everso poorly they would probably die on the way home and we cant save them all......but you thought of saving him so that in itself is fantastic! (rotten fiance!)

Have no pics yet, have been really busy, will get some over the weekend. I had a nice big bubble nest from the blue one today!
Ghost I didnt think was going to make the night as he was just sat on the bottom looking miserable and ignoring the food. He seems more lively today and he snatches at the food, chews it and then spits it back out! Im going to try crushing some of the pellets and then give it to him. He is so tiny, I dont think he was fed much atall, I can see what Im guessing is like his bones down near the base of his tail! My partner also has bloodworms coming in the post so Im going to steal them for him :shifty:
I also switched the blue one over with Ghost, so Ghost is now in 1 side of my 10G, I thought if he wasnt too well maybe the low filtration in that one would make him a little happier and also the big bubble nest that was left from the blue one might make him happier. I cant believe I got him though, I saw him about a month ago and only left the store without him 'cos I had no where to keep him and then he was there yesterday waiting for me :hyper: Wooo! I hope he will eat soon though he is a tiny little fishy!
I have to go get pics just so I can show you all!!!! Be back soon

I got pics but I cant get the camera to load onto the laptop properly  Ill have to get my partner to load it up for me I cant do it lol!
Just crushed some pellets for Ghost so I sat watching him and for some reason he is searching for food all over the floor?! I thought at first maybe he had a slight swim bladder problem but he swims just fine and he peers in under the edge of a rock looking at some roots of the plant thats in there like he wants to eat them, then he watches under the edge of marbles and stares at all the little white bits of the sandy stuff I have on the bottom as if its food... He went up for a breath after a while and noticed a piece of the pellet and he ate that just fine then went back down and carried on searching... Just went and checked and it looks like he has munched a few more bits that were floating and some are still left. He was sat up in the corner watching me, now he has gone back down to search. I dont know, hopefully he will get used to the idea that they float. He can only be 1 1/2 inches from mouth to the base of his tail.
Ill get the pics up as soon as I get the stupid camera working properly!
