2 Problems Please Help

Yeah today that platty has a large patch in it of skins that's degrading right at the side of the bend someone please help its getting worse.

can you get a pic please? dont move either of the fish into the main tank, continue with treatment. what are you using?

Sure I will get a pic soon, the spine is straight now (almost) only the slightest bend but it still does not move the tail, its belly is very boated and it has trouble keeping balanced. Large patch of skin that seems to be rotting. I am using the fungus eliminator as it says it treats cotton fungus, red sores, gray skin, fish bloat, fin & mouth rot, white film on eyes, red streaks on fins and swim bladder disease. Okay I will keep both in the hospital tank. Thank you for your reply.

Also I fed it a thawed out pea that i stripped and cut into small pieces. It did not eat them yet. I just added them 10 mins ago.

no probs. just continue with the full course of treatment as described on bottle. keep the water fresh and clean (test daily as some medications can wipe out beneficial bacteria, which in turn will poison the fish).
a pic would defo be useful though. glad to hear she seems a little better.

Well its not really the spine is but rest is rotting, also most the time she just lays on her side now >< almost looks like a giant dead organ, okay here comes some pics sorry for the quality of them.

well here are the pictures, however she died as i took them :( rip platty. oh well I guess now I just need to clean that water out very well and hope to give the silver guy in that tank a chance.

Awww poor girl  RIP.

It looks like the top half of her body is redder than the rest, almost like a bacterial infection (can enter through a small cut etc and get worse quickly).
How does the other fish look?

I would switch meds to maracyn plus.
If you do decide to change meds, water change and run some black carbon for aday.

Are you cleaning the equipment after use.
Washing your hands before you put them in another tank.
As disease can spread from tank to tank.

Okay thanks. All the other fish look great. Main tank has good readings now still 0.25 nitrite but the rest are good. Okay I will change both tanks again today and start a carbon filter in the hospital tank since the silver fish in the hospital tank looks good now, but I want to wait few days before I move him and make sure he is okay before going to the main tank.

Yeah I was scared it could be fish tb so I was washing everything the best I could, also is it okay to wash the fish stuff in just hot water? I don't like to use any soap on the fish stuff.

Well did my tests for my main tank today and it reads. 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 7.6 ph. Not sure what that means. still stuck mid cycle?

not sure if it should read with a tiny nitrate or not.

Boiling water fine for cleaning nets. I just get a jug and add the boling water, and leave the nets soaking.

It's rare to have a nitrate reading of 0, unless your tap nitrate reading 0, you have live plants.

Once nitrate reading get above 50 it wants fetching down.

Thanks for the update.

okay cool thank you :) yes I have like 6 live plants now, changed the tank 30% again today anyways but readings were 0 across the board again today. I still add stability at night, not sure if i need to anymore.

New problem again (argh!) The silver molly in the hospital tank is acting very weird. His stomach is very small he looks starving, he acts starving but when I try feed him he goes after the food but then spits it all out. also he still has a few little white dots on his head. not sure really what i should do. I changed his water and setup a good air pump.

do the white dots look like grains of sugar? or are they smaller? are they all together in one place, or spread out a bit? does his mouth look ok? has he been eating ok? pooping?

yeah the dots are about the size of a grain of sugar. he just has like 2 left they were all over and a lot worse. So that part SEEMS to be clearing up. His mouth is okay, no he is not pooing, and nope spits everything out. it might just be old I m not sure I will get a picture of him up here asap

also the dots are spread out.

sounds like he might have whitespot, but we will defo need a pic to confirm. does the medicine you are using treat whitespot?
something for his appetite: crush some garlic. then you take a pea and put it in boiling water for a minute or two, let it cool, deshell it and cut it into tiny pieces, then put it in the pot with the garlic. leave for a while (a few hrs would be good) Then take out a few pieces of the pea and feed it to him. see if he takes it. Garlic is a natural antibacterial and appetite stimulant ;) (you can keep the pot in the fridge for a few days)

If the spots on the head are the size of a grain of salt it sounds like whitespot.

Do you still have meds in the tank. If so which brand of med.

Has the fish lost weight due to not eating?
