2 Problems Please Help

forget all the chemicals. you dont need them (except for dechlorinator). sounds like your lfs is selling you every chemical going!
Instead of spending money on those, spend it on a test kit, so that WE can see your test results. Did they write down the results for you?
How are the fish?

Fish are doing great now, 0 ammonia but .50 nitrates :( and 7.6 PH

Also that guy is clearing right up, still red around the gills but he is new so maybe that is how he was, i am not sure.

I just have the water I am going to use sitting by the fireplace to warm up a bit, can i add the aqua plus to almost ice cold water?

well it seems one of them hit one of my tiny blue fish (not a neon smaller with a fan tail) he is just laying on the bottom and has a piece missing from its fin >< I wonder what fish could have done that? oh well i hope it lives i am getting plants for the tank tomorrow. have one more of those little guys left i hope they don't pick him off too.

Don't forget to do a gravel vac and remove ornaments.

You don't need chemicals to fetch nitrates down. Just gravel vac, water changes, and rinse one filter sponge slightly in old tank water.
Don't go mad with the sponges, don't want the tank to go into a mini cycle.

Need a nitrite reading also.

err sorry the reading was nitrite not nitrate

That worse then.

Keep doing water changes and increase aeration.

We really need to know what type of fish you have, as the tank could be overstocked.

2 swordtails 2 CAE 2 Neons 2 platies a black skirt and a few guppies 12 in total.

thanks I started aeration, and I did a 60-70% water change today. what size changes will I need now? also wilder one of my fish (the pregnant platty) acts like it broke its back. he has an odd curve in his spine and is not moving his back tail much if at all. When he goes to feed he bobs up and down. with his nose to the light and his tail pointed to the floor, it seems like it can not swim straight at all. please help.

ammonia 0 ph 7.6 nitrites still bad did 2 70% changes still bad readings :( doing another now.

also I have a fish that COULD have TB but he is only showing the bent spine symptom. I have that one guy with the parasites hes better now but the nitrites are still bad in the other tank, but if that one fish in the hospital tank with him has Tb i would hate for him to get it too, what is a safe way to get him out without bringing tb or anything to my main tank?

is this swimbladder wilder? Matt does the platy look like she has an S shaped spine when viewed from above? does she struggle to get to the top or the bottom? swim strangely? is she feeding ok? does it get worse after feeding? what do you feed them?

oh and could you please test your tap water for nitrites - thanks :good:

tested tap water for it and it came up clean, yeah i was starting to think it was my water.

yeah it is and S kind of, its managed to find a spot at the bottom and she stays down there I turned off my filter to help her stay stable and have put in antibiotics. The behavior changed a day after the antibiotic for the better I think she stays down near the bottom and does not just bob at the surface with its head sometimes coming out of the water. Still is not active though and does not move its back tail well at all.

Ok.

What the name of the antibiotic you have used?
It will wipe the beneifical bacteria out in the filter.

Fish will swim strange with a s shaped spine.

Causes of a curved spine are old age, injury, birth defect, vitamin deficiency, fish tb, internal parasites.

Do any of your fish show any of these symtoms aswell.

Long stringy white poo, clear mucas poo, red poo.
Enlarged anus, red inflamed anus.
Fish will look skinny, or bloated.
Fish will sometimes swim on it's side.
Bent spine.
Sunken in belly.
Worms sticking out of the anus.
Spitting food out, not eating.
Sometimes flicking and rubbing.

If you have bad water quality the fish will flick and rub.

When you preform a water change do you also do a gravel vac.

Yep I use a gravel vac to get the water out.
I used the fungus eliminator again it says it will help with swim bladder.
I have not seen it poo in 2 days, last time large normal string.
I sure hope this is not fish TB as I have another fish in with it :( its better but i'm scared to move it back in case it has it already.
Still with a curved spine, does not swim right. has a little white starting to show in its color I will get some pics.

Main tank changed water again today, Nitrites are now 0-.25 Its between those because its not as dark as the .25 shows. WOOT finally some progress!

Yeah today that platty has a large patch in it of skins that's degrading right at the side of the bend someone please help its getting worse.
