I have just finished doing some more bits and bobs (ripping out the crypts) in my main living room tank. This has been a continuous scape.

This is the development over 6 months...

i like it so much that i hate you

I think id prefer a corner tank... how do you get on re flow, any different than with a regular shaped tank? Are you using internal filter?

I have still got the Juwel internal in it and i use a Koralia 1. The juwel filter has a 1000lph powerhead in it. The Juwel filters are good filters IME, however it will be coming out this year at some point. I used this as we had a crawling baby and i couldn't afford to have 50g of water on my living room carpet, this ruled out an external. The baby is now 3, so i shall be purchasing an external.

looks fab that Ian

The Lotus looks ace in the latter pics very big leaves

the change from start to finish is fantastic!! thats what I want :good:

the xx ? cool :D

erm.. no drop checker?

The drop checker was removed a month or 2 back. I have the CO2 running via a regulator and solenoid, the drop checker was green enough for me all over the tank. I don't mess with the regulator and also have a bubble counter, so there's no need for a drop checker, it's just extra clutter on the glass. I would recommend anyone setting up CO2 to invest in one though.

And cheers Simon!

I would love to get a planted tank, but it all seems like a bit too much hassle for me, what extra care do you have to do for a good planted?

a planted tank is what you want it to be...

The first thing is that plants will grow under any light, you don't need copious amount a wattage to run a successful planted tank. The light generally rules what you need or have to do run a planted tank. This tank is running 2 T5HO 28w, see the higher the light, the more nutients the plants need. You don't always have to run C02 or even dose ferts if the lighting is low. There have been some very successful low light planted tanks on here.
