hi ive just brought a Eheim External Filter 2080 professional 3 the details are below i belive it to be a very good filter and will suit a tank up to 270 uk gallons

Ideal for freshwater and saltwater

For Aquariums up to 1200l (270gallons)

The Eheim Professional 3 external canister filter combines high pump output (1700l/h) and a large canister and filter volume (25l./13.5l) with high reliability and the renowned EHEIM quiet running smoothness. The large prefilter, easily accessible under the pumphead, significantly increases the intervals between cleaning.

1) NEW: 2+1 Safety-hose adapter - 2 inlet side connectors and 1 outlet side connector guarantee the optimum water circulation for your aquarium

2) Maintenance flow indicator - easy to view in the adaptor - measures the water throughflow

3) The flow lever adjusts the water flow through the filter

4) The red safety catch prevents accidental release during handling: the adaptor can only be removed when the taps are closed

Yer you can't go wrong with an Eheim. Serious amount of filteration there!!

I've got the Eheim 2128 Thermo External for my 70 gallon.
