After a long holiday from fish keeping I came back and bought a small tank I found on gumtree. Normally it's only smallish tanks you find on there for cheap so I started with it.
It was pretty terrible with plastic plants, Lack of gravel and a heater that didn't really work so yea, I bought some better stuff for it and some fish, After grabbing some mature media from my LFS.
I also got a eheim filter off gumtree too and I prefer canisters so it was a good steal, Didnt quite fit in that well though.
Anyway, After another look through gumtree I found a 180L for around 40 quid, I got the guy down to around 20 quid and asked to pick it up the sameday. So yea, Got it into my car and home safely. Just the lack of room in my bedroom for it
after cleaning it out, Filling it up and getting the temp right, I moved my fish over and it was fine. Just insanely empty and sad looking.
Shortly after I got some yellow sand for cheap for it, Added that along with my redmoor wood and some extra plants. I also got a angel pair that seemed quite happy in the loooong tank.
However, Since this thread is about plants, I'll show you what it looks like today :
I've painted the back of the tank black, Looks much better. Added a lot more plants, Dosing ferts and liquid CO2 daily. Also got some rocks out of my local stream to make a cave to the left and some bogwood to the right.
My tank stock is:
2 angels
6 Colombian Redfin tetra
1 BN Pleco
6 Kuhli loaches
I believe thats it for my tank and I quite like it that way, Pretty active tank if I do say so myself.
As for a plant list, There really isn't that much in it, Vallis, Swords, Crypts, Cabomba and something I can't quite remember the name of.
Am just letting the plants now root themselfs and hopefully after a fair bit of time I'll see some growth, But there under a very long T8 light which isn't the greatest for plant growth, I'll be upgrading it soon.
Some really bad fish photos.
