if it's 1/12th scale..... surley it means the pic is 1 12th of the item's actual size. so measure the pic and times the size by 12 :)

Um, that would be daft as the size of the pic depends on the size and resolution of the screen your looking at it with and load of other factors.

Hey guys! I was browsing for tank ornaments on e-bay and found one UK seller for the item that I'm looking for. The description doesn't mention the actual size, but it just says "This is a 1/12th scale"  I'm confused. Can someone tell me how to convert that in US measurements?

TIA!

It's not something that can really be converted as it's not actually a measurement of anything, just a scale.

In terms of models, which is essentially what ornaments are it usually means the model is 1/12th the size of the thing it was modeled from.

If it helps to clarify then a 1/12 scale equates to around 8.3% of the original size, depending on the item that may be very big (if the original object was an air craft carrier) or very small (if the original object was a poodle)

So, just take the size of the original object and divide it by 12 to get the size of the onament and bobs your uncle.

Hope that helps.

Paul.
