I thought it could have been funny if Marvin had gone through the change after Gloria was killed off like real clown fish do. Now that would have been interesting!

Marvin: "Nemo!!"
Nemo: "Dadd-.. Mommy?"
Marvina: "yes?" feminine voice.

When is the last time your fish tried to escape out the window when you bagged them to transfer them a new aquarium?

Applying logic to Finding Nemo is fruitless endeavor. It's a CGI Cartoon!

I thought that film was ok at the time, but now i hate it. A garden centre near us has a marine fish section, and it also sells finding nemo tanks which must hold like 3 gallons at max. The amount of people who have their kids with them, see the tank, the clownfish, decide to put two and two together and try to buy both at the same time is quite funny  . Luckily from what i can tell, i dont think the less experianced staff there are allowed to go near the saltwater section.
Whats not funny is the amount of people who buy the tank and goldfish from there  .
Luckily most of the staff working in that section are quite good, but every now and then you get an idiot :( .

And now shall we analyze Bambi? Anyone? Sharktales? Vegetarian sharks and mafia organization in the ocean. That's perfectly logical. Great thread, FKNM.

llj

Plus fish arent supposed to be that smart. And if you use sand in your salwater tanks then you would have the problem of having a GRAVEL jammed filter. I didnt even see a powerhead in that movie.

did you see any filter media in said movie?

My two cents worth, one penny at a time....

1. I wish everyone overanalyzed that movie (p.s. i liked it). In the states, sales of clownfish rose 600% after the release of that movie. How many of those purchases do you think were made on impulse?

2. Fish not being smart? I wish I could remember the specifics, but I know that a team in Scotland (I believe) were able to get fish to understand the differences between music genres in response to feeding, tank cleaning, water changes, etc. And I'm not talking about Classical vs. Norweigian Black Metal (which would be obvious), but rather different decades of Jazz.

cheers,
MoMa

oh, and the sharks anonymous meetings were hysterical.

yeah I wonder how many people where total fish keeping noobs and got all those clown fish killed. :/

as for fish being smart, i hear you on that one. I think my fish are not genious but decently smart.

On a slightly different note, whenever I watch 'fly on the wall docs' such as those DIY homes improvement ones, I always spot the fish tank. Doesn't matter where it is, how big it is, how much of it is obscured by some pain the ass kid or if they only show it for 1 second, I spot it! Often accompanied by the words, 'its not as nice as mine' or 'those fish should never be together!' or 'When I get a fish tank that big...' much to the annoyance of my fiancee!

Has anyone considered calling the RSPCA on Pixar and telling the RSPCA that animal cruelty is being portrayed? Just like the time people started calling the RSPCA on the small tank being sold in Tesco!
