16 Gallon Tank

Hi guys iv just received a second hand 16 gallon tank and iv been wondering what sort of fish to put into it as i already have a 34 gallon tank. im lookin for something unusual that wont outgrow the tank or maybe use it as a spawning tank for my gold barbs or danios which both have spawned but all eggs have been eaten. anyone have any ideas what i could do?

a trio of apistogramma and a shoal of tetras or a pair of rams

i got 2 tiny bns in the hope i could raise them to close to maturity in that tank then move them to my other tank, going to try some blue rams breeding but not sure how to differ between males and females and how to breed them
