I actually think it was for the best. The red devil made a few nests, well..... alot of nests. And has been activly swimming around since. He isnt even hiding now, so I took out the hiding spaces and now the tank is pretty much natural except I still want some more plants, and I need new gravel. But overall Im very happy with how it is at the moment. :D

Haha! I did some rescaping this morning and I love the tank! Cant wait until I get the driftwood and gravel! I wont be getting the river rocks, just some more plants :p

This is my fake planted lawn. I love it :p

Here is half of the tank. This is the side with the plants and his biggest hole but you couldnt see it.

Yay! So excited. The gravel is quite deep but I am only putting an inch and a half in when I get the pea gravel

There's a zombie on your lawn..not really :p
I like the hollow tree decoration.
Not sure how extra light will help the BN? =o Or maybe I'm misunderstanding something
Really can't wait to see the way it looks when you replace the gravel!

To grow more alagae for him. The tank is spotless. Which you would normally want, but not since he is so skinny. 14 hours of light a day now. :D

Ah okay, that makes sense! Have you given him any algae wafers? You could also put some rocks in a bowl of water on a windowsill to grow some algae, I think.

Yea. I have. He doesnt eat them. Might try again as the yellow lab is gone. I have put suction cupa in a dish on the windowsill as he loves the wall. I have also tried romaine lettuce.

Get some cucumber or zucchini for him, just microwave it for 20 seconds first though to kill of any nasties. They love it!! :D

We have no hope on keeping the gravel nice. The cichlid is making another hole....

I cant find my camera, which is sad... But, he has 2 holes and wont stop making them bigger. Tank hasnt changed but it is getting gross so I need to do a 20 perfecnt water change

Ok. The crypt has 2 more stems on it :D Instead of fake plants I just might not buy anything in the plant section. Maybe some bulbs. All depends on price really.

My dad had the camera :/ lol

Yay, glad your plant is doing well ^_^
lol, other way around here, I keep taking my dads camera to take pics of the fish

Next weekend is taking out most of the gravel, re planting the bulbs, and re-scape. The crypt has 4 stems with leaves, and 1 baby little stem growing. It gets about one stem a day now, eventually I want to seperate it into a few plants.

My plan is not a super duper busy-cant see into tank, but one with a few fake plants, a few real plants, and a few peices of decor.

How do I clean the driftwood when I get it from the river?
