.

Yes but its naturally a floating plant and left on the surface in good conditions then it grows very quickly and you can slowly plant it.

I've come out from under the rock now and this is a great scape! Love it, love it, love it! Want to see the reddish plant, on the left back corner, reach the top and frame the wood and the moss fill it more, but that'll happen with time. So much better than my jungles.

:good: Keep up the good work!

llj :D

Wow that tanks inspiring! I don't know if it's easier in smaller tanks or what, but I don't know how to scheme aqua scape myself. But you certainly have a hit there. The consensus now seems to be more is less, ie three to four plant types no more for definition. All sounds like body building contestants now. Sorry I often go off topic.

I Love it  It's definitely woodland alright ! lol

Oh - and just saw that video of the otto - it's just brilliant

Looks really really great, lush and lovely.

Your otto should have an agent, such star quality and comic talent, made me giggle.

I had the exact same problem with my HM, it very much likes to grow upwards rather than bush out. Perhaps I didn't give it long enough but basically I just cut it back hard every few weeks and it produced side shoots so was on the way to filling out. I think the key is little but often I left mine far to long between cuts and it became really leggy. If you give it a really good trim once its established, to say 2-3" then that'll form the base on top of which you can produce the busy effect.

One word of comment on the layout, I personally think you'd be better off with the HM just on the left as it looks great surrounding the wood, perhaps grade it a bit to give it more texture. The stuff on the right looks a bit out of place, to my eyes the two areas of HM join up and i lose the java moss at the front which ruins the perception of depth.

Just my thoughts :)

FKNM check the veriety of HM you have, read in an ADA aqua journal that there are 2 types havn't got the details with me ( at work  ) but i think one is called Macrananthamun Macrananthamoids, and Hermainthus Macrananthamoids "VAR" I think HM "VAR" is the type that creeps out ( Ill check when i get home )

I have kept MM and it needs ( in my tank ) high light with hard trimming program to get the bushy look.

Not sure FKNM, dont think it took to long though a couple of weeks to get properly rooted in maybe

 make it better ? Hey, in my novice eyes it's totally jaw dropping stunning

Humm tricky one FK, I do like the HM but still think you've got to much in there? How about replacing the right hand side stuff with a small crypt or something add a different shape?
