14 Days Later

When I read up on fishless cycling by Chris Cow the fellow that is supposed to have pioneered this it was stated that the bacteria build up will be far in excess of what a fully stocked tank would produce. The article stated that you could fully stock the tank after the cycle was done.

If everything is done right (which I am sure I did) I should have a higher bacteria count than I need. Therefore the bacteria should actually die back to the level required to handle the current fish load. I am testing twice per day (morning and night) and so far there is no sign of either an ammonia or nitrite build up. The fish were added over two days.

If I have any problems I'll let everyone know but it should work. The link for the article is below

Hi MyDogIsJealousOfMyFish :)

Congratulations on successfully cycling your tank!

While you are still stocking it, I'd like to suggest that you add a few more corys. They are schooling fish and need to be kept in groups. When you do, you will be happy to see their true personalities show since they will become more active and playful. :D
