I've not even set this tank up yet, it's still in a box, but when I do how does this sound? Too much? Too little? Room for more? It's a Tropiquarium 88 (85 x 37 x 48.5h cm) and will be heavily planted with small gravel substrate and some big bits of bogwood.

1x Flash Pleco
6-8x Emperor Tetras (either Nematobrycon palmeri or Inpaichthys kerri depending what the shop has, if it's the N.palmari it'll be 6, if it's the smaller I.kerri it'll be 8)

Now, would there be room for Corys or Kuhlis? I could switch to either a very fine gravel or sand substrate if necessary. I already have a lonely Panda Cory and lonely Kuhli Loach in another 65L tank awaiting moving from my Dad's house.

What do you guys think?

hi, it seems a bit bare to me. you could get some corries in there, i would get some more C. panda, as they prefer the company of there own species. you could also get some more kuhli loaches, it would be a good idea to use sand as the substrate, as both species prefer this. the kuhli's also prefer a well planted tank. i would get at least another 5 or 6 corries, and the same with the kuhli's, as they both like to live i groups. i'm not 100%, but you could probably get a few more emperor tetras aswell if you wanted. i'm not brilliant at stocking though, so i'm sure someone else will help, but that seems good to me. what do you think?

cheers :good:

I don't mind "bare" tanks, remember there will be dense greenery! Lots of different tall plants so it definitely won't look empty! I like to give my fish space to roam.

I'm not sure about Loaches. I've had Chain Loaches and they were bonkers, they bossed Serpae Tetras around, and they fin nip.

Keeping the Cory and Kuhli I have at the moment is an option

If you already have a lonely C panda, get him about 5 friends to play with. I love cories but find the pandas are not as hardy as some of the others. Once your tank has matured a bit, more pandas would be a great addition. Kuhli loaches are also very much fish that enjoy company. They are not something that I keep but I don't think I have ever seen just one in a tank. At around 35 US gallons, you have room for both the pandas and the kuhlis in my opinion. I would add the pandas last just because of their sensitivity.

I'm picking up the 130L on Tuesday (it's in my bf's uncles garage in a box at the moment heh!). Think I might change the filter on it, need to see how its all wired up.

I am leaning towards keeping the Kuhli and Cory, they came in a second hand tank and were originally a pair each, but they were left in the care of my brother who didn't really do care!
