should be getting a 125ltr juwel rio and wondered what to stock it with??? I was thinking of oscars but if i got two oscars.....what else could go in there? maight go with bog wood and a few real plants too with sand substrate. let me know your thoughts peeps.

Its to small for any Oscars i'm afraid, there is plenty of smaller species you can go with tho, depends what you like.

I wouldn't get anything bigger than a Convict tho.

Unless you mean 125 Gallon?

really....wow thought that tank would be big enough lol....i saw one in the shop and thought it looked massive lol. So what sort of size fish am i realistically going to be able to house? like in inches per fish? like 4inches per fish and a few of them?

As to what to stock.... im really into cichlids so any really. might do a malawi set up....just cost a fortune buying loads of rock haha.

If it looked massive I imagine you mean a 125 gallon tank? A 125 liter tank is typically 3 foot long and as such no place for an Oscar where as a 125 gallon tank range from 4 foot to 6 foot long? Do you have the measurements for the tank?

its a juwel rio 125....so think its defo 125 ltrs. I think it looks massive prob because its my first "big" tank lol....i only have a 23ltr fluval edge at the min so compared to that it is massive lol. So what can i have in a 125 ltr realistically? Im after some thing interesting/odd and maybe colourful.

Ah right okay so yeah 125 liters.

Im afraid that yeah your going to have to set your sights lower on your adult sized fish as oscars often grow larger than a foot long and are very chunky fish. If you like cichlids though and you want to go down the American route your best off looking at dwarfs and mid sized open water cichlids.

Something like a pair of Festivum Cichlids and a trio of Apistogramma would work well with some additional community fish like maybe some Spotted Headstanders and some Emperor Tetras and then some Panda Cory cats for the bottom of the tank.

If you wanted to go african though there are a few options but not tons but still possible to do a nice tank with stuff like Lemon Cichlids - Neolamprologus leleupi among others.

yeah think i may sway towards the african....maybe try a rock milawi set up as you can get some good colours :)

Not sure if you would know but if i went for a rocky milawi set up roughly how many fish could i get in there? say if i went for all lemons???

Im not sure to be honest, I have literally been reading about them for a day lol and those were just one of my favorites that came up. You would be best of posting in the African section about this size tank. But from what I was reading in a 30g foot print tank you are looking at about 3 pairs/trios (depending on species) of 3 different species though I imagine 1 male and multiple females of one group would bring decent enough numbers.

Agree with above, start off with some Yellow labs, they are nice and cheap and probably the most striking Mbuna, grab 5-6 and have a darker rock background/black sand (get some sheets of slate from homebase and smash them up)
