Hi Everyone, Have recently bought 125 Litre Tank which is currently being cycled, and was looking for some advice and suggestions of which fish would be able to keep together? Amounts of fish? etc.....

Here is what i was thinking??

Small shoel of Zebra Danios
1 Male Guppie
2 Female Guppies
Red Tailed Shark
Male Betta
3 Corys
A Few Platties
Clown Loach
A pair dwarf Gouramis

Any help, advice or suggestions would be appreciated!!

Hi okay the stocking list is a start and shows what you like but some of the fish are incompatible, in to low numbers or will outgrow the tank Im afraid.

Based of the fish you listed I would do something like

5 Male Platy
5 Male Guppy
10 Zebra Danio - though may be nippy to the Guppy
8 Cory Catfish - all the same species so like 6 Bronze or 6 Peppered or 6 Panda etc
8 Zebra Loach - instead of the clown loach as clown loaches get to about 10 inches or so as adults

You could also perhaps looking at adding 2 or 3 larger feature fish like Pearl Gourami as well.

I left out the Bettas as they do best in small tanks by them selves because of their massive fins they often are not well suited to live in a big tank as they can have trouble swimming.

I also would recommend just sticking with male live bearers though you could potentially handle some fry in that tank as it is your first you do not want to be over run with fry at this early stage of the hobby. Males of these species in that size tank will not be a problem with no females around.

Thats 36 fish you're suggesting for a 125 litre tank Wills   And too many Bottom dwellers aswell
I would suggest
3 Male Platy
6 Zebra Danio
6 Cory Catfish
5 Dwarf/Chain Loach
2 Dwarf Gouramis

All of which stay around or under 2 inches and most of which need larger groups to thrive. In a 3 foot tank I would be happy to have that as a stock

Apart from the Zebra Danio, all of your suggested fish are 2.5"+ :shout: :p

w/e I stock heavy we could continue to argue but to be honest Carl you annoy me as it is - perhaps 8 of the cories and the loaches is a bit much but dropping them to 6 each isnt really a biggie.
