110L Stocking Opinions Please

Well I'm gradually planning out my new 110L topical tank and think I have come up with an ok'ish stocking arrangement, but just wanted to check with the experts first.

The list is as follows,

8 x Kuhli Loach
8 x Celestial Pearl Danio
8 x Blue Emperor Tetra
2 x Dwarf Gourami
1 x Albino Bristlenose Pleco

Any suggestions of what should be changed, if anything, or any other opinions greatly appreciated.

Looks pretty good to me Just a thought though, if you took out the plec and tetras and swapped them for some other asian fish you would have a pretty nice biotope, not important really but just a bit of fun

i love khuli loach. if i was you i would get more than 8 and have sand so you can see them better. but remember once you put them in it takes hours to get them out. i was trying just to get 7 out of a 60L and it took me ages because i had gravel and they just hid under it and they are so quick!
sounds good anyway, i would also put lots of live plants in and natural rocks.

I did look at biotopes but decided against it. Personal preference more than anything

I agree with Wills, you could have a nice little set up with some Asian fish.
I'd consider Honey Gourami instead of Dwarf as they are a lot hardier, Dwarf are more prone to bacterial infection.
Instead of the Tetra, how about Pentazona Barbs or Harlequin Rasboras. You could also try a shoal of Glass Catfish instead of the Plec.

I do like the look of the Honey Gourami so may swap the dwarfs for a pair of them.

The Harlequins, although nice, look a tad boring and I'd something a little more colourful if poss.

and Glass Cats just look ugly ( sorry, but it's true )

The Glass catfish are definitely a marmite fish, you either love 'em or hate 'em!
If you want colour, then have a look at the Pentazona Barbs. They are stunning when they mature and very peaceful.

Can't get hold of the barbs. There's no LFS near me apart from a rubbish PAH so I will be ordering the fish online and having them couriered to me, so species are a little limited but more so than locally.

OK, Just come across Puntius arulius which I really like the look of and they also come from Asia so might swap them for the Tetras.

Now something to swap for the pleco as I want an individual fish as well as the others, just someone who will keep himself to himself and like being in a community.

Any ideas?

Arulius are beautiful fish, colours are striking as they mature.
As for catfish, depends if you want to keep with the Asian theme?
I've just set up a S.E. Asian biotope and drew a blank when it came to cats. Only thing that took my fancy were Hyalobagrus ornatus. There's probably many more out there, just haven't researched it further yet!

Now that I have this much kinda half sorted I'd like to go the the Asian Biotope all the way, I just guess the cat is out. I did look at having a single male betta but don't think he would like all the other fish

Considered a male Betta myself but it can be difficult stocking around them. Decided to keep one in my 10G tank instead. Don't rule out a cat completely, it's just a case of finding the right one. Might be worth asking in the Pleco/Catfish section and see if you have any joy there.

Well with the thanks of people on here, I have decided to go for a Biotope;

The fish stock will include;

3 x Honey Gourami 1:2 m:f
3 x Pearl Gourami 1:2 m:f
10 x Galaxy Rasbora
6 x Kuhli Loach

Now this tank will be fairly heavily planted so shouldn't have a problem with the diff gourami species fighting.

7 x Gold Barbs
10 x Galaxy Rasbora
