10G Stocking Question

as you know I'm taking my bros 10G aquarium and for the aquarium I was thinking of getting sand in there and of course put my Betta in there with Kuhli loaches (please correct me if I didn't spell it right) and pygmi cories. (please correct me on that one too) but here is the problem, I don't know how much to get before overstocking, so how much should I get on those 2.

I have 9 pygmys and 3 kuhlis with a betta in my 48 litre. But I'd recommend 6 pygmys and 5 kuhlis, depending on the exact size of your tank, is it imperial or US gallons? I think that would be fine just keep an eye on your nitrates. If I was to restock my own tank though, I'd just get kuhlis and the betta.

I own kuhlis and reccomend that they have minimum groups of 8 to feel really secure, it also alows you to see them more in the daytime as even thoug they are nocturnal if they are in larger numbers they will be out and about in the daytime.

3 is far too few, you would never see them and tey would feel very insecure. As for pygmys i'd say 5 but i would also suggest you choose between the kuhlis and pygmys as you don't want too many bottom feeders in one tank, especially if it has such a small footprint. Although the pygmys will spend alot of time swimming in the more mid-sections of the tank they still feed from the bottom, just a thought.

I'd also say go with one species or the other really. Both Khulies and Cories like big groups, and a ten gallon has space for one group only to be honest.

If I were you I'd say The pygmy cories. You could have more of them than khulies in a ten gal and they also swim in the mid water areas as well as the bottm. Very sweet little things.

You could go for around 8 pygmy cories and your betta in that tank.
