yes it would work but maybe too well its a bit too poerfull really for such a small tank and amount of water

you may well find the fish boiled tbh, i would go with a 25W

ebay do 25W heaters (superfish ones are cheap and acurate) for around £10. However i think a 100 watt one should work fine. itll cut out once it reaches temp,and when the temp falls it'll top it back up with just a quick pull instead of taking 4x longer with the 25w..itll pull more current for shorter periods of time,i cant see a problem TBH...

true they mostly are thermostatic but id still go for a 25 watt
